Biography
Anthony Whittaker was born in Warrington in 1968. He studied piano with Peter Wild and Organ with Ann Bond. After acquiring the LRAM diploma in 1989, ARCO and LTCL in 1991, he graduated from the University of London in 1994 BMus (Hons). He has also completed the Cert Ed and PG Dip in Educational Management at John Moores University and was recently elected a Fellow of the Academy of St Cecilia. He has an MMus degree from the University of Liverpool in composition and is now working towards his PhD composition folio.
Anthony is an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and a music examiner for the International Baccalaureate; Anthony tours the Far East, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan for the ABRSM. He also conducts assessments for the Junior RNCM.
He is the accompanist for Warrington Male Voice Choir and occasionally, he sings bass with Canzonetta Chamber Choir. He is happily married to Stephanie and has two daughters, Charlotte and Amelia.
