Biography

Anthony Whittaker was born in Warrington. He studied piano with Peter Wild and Organ with Ann Bond. After acquiring the LRAM diploma in 1989, ARCO and LTCL organ performance in 1991, he graduated from the University of London in 1994 BMus (Hons). He has an MMus and PhD degree from the University of Liverpool in composition.

Having worked as a college lecturer in Liverpool for 8 years, he is now freelance, an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and a music examiner for the International Baccalaureate; Anthony has toured the Far East, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan for the ABRSM, more recently he has also visited Scandinavia and Australia conducting grade and diploma examinations. He also works occasionally for the Junior RNCM.
He is the official accompanist for Warrington Male Voice Choir and occasionally, when time permits, he sings bass with Canzonetta Chamber Choir.

He is happily married to Stephanie and has two daughters, Charlotte and Amelia.
